Job Description

CABS is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Assistant Compliance Officer to support the implementation and monitoring of the Society's Compliance Management Programme. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting compliance with regulatory requirements, particularly in Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter Financing of Terrorism (CFT), Counter Proliferation Financing (CPF), sanctions compliance, and enterprise risk management. The role involves transaction monitoring, compliance risk assessments, regulatory reporting, stakeholder engagement, and supporting the continuous enhancement of the compliance framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting transaction monitoring and investigating unusual or suspicious activities.
  • Supporting AML/CFT/CPF compliance programmes and risk assessments.
  • Preparing compliance, governance, and regulatory reports and returns.
  • Monitoring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and standards.
  • Supporting regulatory engagements and responding to stakeholder information requests.
  • Assessing compliance risks associated with new products, services, and initiatives.
  • Reviewing high-risk customer activities and recommending mitigation measures.
  • Supporting policy development, compliance awareness initiatives, and governance processes.
  • Assisting with audit reviews, regulatory examinations, and implementation of corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, Law, Risk Management, or an equivalent field.
  • At least two (2) years' experience in a compliance, risk management, audit, or related role.
  • Professional certification such as ICA, ACAMS, or a related qualification will be an added advantage.
